    Position summary

    rcial, and Hanover Programs business units here at The Hanover. This leader is expected to think strategically in support of critical Core and Specialty product development and Product Life Cycle needs. A successful leader will demonstrate the ability to collaborate with key business stakeholders and functional area partners (https://i.e., Actuarial, HTG, Corporate U/W, OGC, Compliance and Claims) while also providing strong leadership and supervision to their staff.

    Responsibilities/Essential Functions  

    • Provide strategic leadership support to the Vice President of Enterprise Product across Core Commercial and Specialty areas of focus
    • Act as a trusted advisor to key business stakeholders and functional area partners
    • Demonstrate technical mastery of supported lines of business from a product standpoint
    • Drives efficient and effective product delivery to meet key business stakeholder needs
    • Monitors and manages Key Performance Indicators and success measures to meet PLC needs  
    • Provides stellar leadership in driving the Product Life Cycle process to achieve the desired outcomes for key business stakeholders
    • Monitors litigation and legislative landscape and proposes proactive strategies to stay ahead of emerging exposures and uphold corporate compliance standards
    • Ability to lead critical strategic initiatives at the request of the Vice President of Enterprise Product

    Required Skills, Knowledge, & Experience and Competencies:

    • Stellar CARE Value and Leadership 5 characteristics
    • Bachelor's/Master's degree in related field, 10 or more years of product or product-related experience at a leadership level. 
    • Strong understanding of General Liability and Umbrella lines of business.
    • Strong understanding of the product development process and Product Life Cycle concepts
    • Proven foundational success in Product, Underwriting, or Claims 
    • Strong knowledge of baseline technology skills (https://i.e., MS Word, excel)
    • Stellar verbal and written communication skills and outstanding leadership presence
    • Ability to effectively present critical strategic and tactical positions to senior members of the leadership team 
    • Self-directed with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work efficiently against deadlines. Must be able to effectively lead multiple assignments
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with key business stakeholder members and project partners
    • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to build, lead, and provide ongoing support to a high performance team
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
